- Description/content
- Digital Process Engineering (DPE) is a four-semester Master's degree programme aimed at Bachelor's graduates with a solid background in chemical or biochemical process engineering and a strong interest in the digital implementation of chemical and biochemical process engineering problems and their solutions.
The basis of this Master's degree course is chemical process engineering, which deals with transforming raw materials and energy into products using chemical, mechanical, and biological processes. The term process engineering should not be confused with process technology, which is concerned with control, automation, and optimisation of production processes and is NOT the focus of the Digital Process Engineering Master's degree course.
A total of 120 ECTS CPs must be acquired.
The compulsory subjects are:
• Scientific computing
• Data visualisation
• Scientific machine learning
• Data analysis and design of experiments
• Modelling, simulation, and optimisation in process engineering
• Project: Computer science in process engineering
The compulsory elective part of the programme can include lectures from the following focus areas:
• Reaction and fluid process engineering
• Particle process engineering
• Bioprocess engineering
• Thermodynamics
