- The Master's programme focus is on advanced, research-related courses in the subjects of inorganic, organic and physical chemistry as well as on the subjects surrounding the department’s main research areas of life sciences and material sciences. These are offered as compulsory elective subjects. One of the notable features of the Master’s programme is the possibility for students to take "focus area courses", in which projects involving practical experience and research are carried out under intensive supervision. These courses offer a substantial foundation for the Master’s thesis as well as for doctoral studies, which graduates usually pursue following the Master’s degree programme.
