Description/content: About Research at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg: BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg sees itself as a research-intensive university with a strong orientation both on basics and on the application of knowledge. It is characterised by the classic features of a technical university. The BTU research profile comprises four key areas: • Global Change and Transformation Processes • Energy Reform and Decarbonisation • Biotechnology, Environment and Health • Cognitive and Dependable Cyber-Physical Systems Objectives of the Graduate Research School: • Promotion of outstanding young researchers • Strengthening of the research profile of the university • Internationalisation of doctoral training programmes at BTU To provide you with exceptional services and funding opportunities, the GRS cooperates closely with all faculties (https://www.b-tu.de/en/university/faculties), the BTU Research Department, and the BTU Welcome Centre (https://www.b-tu.de/en/welcome-centre). Qualification Programme: In addition to your independent research, the GRS also offers you a comprehensive qualification programme (https://www.b-tu.de/en/researchschool/qualification-programme) that is tailored to the specific needs of PhD candidates. You may choose from a wide array of workshops and courses that support you during the doctoral phase and prepare you for your next career steps. The programme consists of four areas: • Networking • Subject-related qualification • Scientific techniques • Transferable skills training Financial Support: GRS provides PhD candidates with various funding opportunities (https://www.b-tu.de/en/researchschool/funding-opportunities). We offer, for example, travel grants for your conference presentations and give additional financial support for research stays at top research institutions. A small number of scholarships are available. Outstanding graduates may also receive funding for their research projects from the GRS and the Postdoc-Network-Brandenburg.
