- Study gender dynamics and societal diversity at a university of applied sciences – this is possible in the BA Gender and Diversity programme at the HSRW. In our programme, diversity isn't just a concept – it's our academic culture. Our interdisciplinary teaching combines sociology, cultural studies, political science and psychology with the fundamentals of economics. What you learn here enables you to examine ongoing transformative processes that result in more heterogeneous societies, in terms of both people and lifestyles. But social diversity is not merely an expression of lifestyle choices; it is also the ability to belong to different social groups defined, for example, by age, sex, nationality, ethnic background or religion, health (dis/ability) or sexuality and living. Within this framework, gender and gender relations can function as central mechanisms for establishing new social realities.
