Description/content: The course comprises the following compulsory modules: • Applied Analytical Chemistry • Applied Microbiology (Geomicrobiology/Hygiene) • Chemometrics and Statistics • Environmental Microbiology • Water Chemistry Within these modules, two laboratory courses in Environmental Microbiology and Analytical Chemistry are included. An additional, research-oriented practical course in the third semester can be chosen either in these or related subjects. Additional optional courses have to be chosen from a variety of water-related topics to set a more individual study focus. Currently, these include: • Advanced Mass Spectrometry • Microbial Biotechnology • Microbial Physiology and Biotechnology • Microbial Bioinformatics • Membrane Technology • Metrology in Chemistry • Nanoparticles and Colloids • Oxidative Processes in Water Technology • Quality and Project Management • Stable Isotope Analysis • Technical Engineering Water • Waste-Water Treatment • Lipidomics • Foodomics • Nanomaterials in environment and health
