The curriculum at Kiel University of Applied Sciences is very flexible. Therefore, it is possible to design an individual course schedule, and notably, you can also distribute the modules over a longer period of time.
A typical situation is that a student works in part-time (e.g. 20 hours a week). In this case students select a selection of modules which represent 50% of the expected workload of a semester (15 CP). Since all modules except the "Project" are offered once in a year, the missed courses can therefore only be made up with a one-semester delay.
However, we are currently unable to offer online courses.
- Application deadline
- 15 January for the following summer semester
15 July for the following winter semester
The programme will start for the first time in the winter semester 2026/27.

- Description/content
- The Master's degree programme is application-oriented and imparts knowledge in the field of innovative development capabilities with respect to the complete life cycle of battery systems.
It equips graduates with the skills to apply their knowledge on known and new problems and to independently acquire new knowledge and skills in the future. The goal is to acquire expert knowledge and to differentiate existing academic results as well as to identify practical problems and to have the ability to solve them. The students acquire the skills to judge scientific findings and to apply them in practice and do practical research themselves.
