- It is possible to study the Master's degree programme in Chemical Biology in English. In addition, some courses can be taken in the German language.
Students can choose to take their examinations and write the Master's thesis in either language.

- If students are unable to relocate in time (e.g. due to a missing visa), they will not be removed from the programme. All courses are taught on campus, but it is possible to learn the content of the lectures from the literature and lecture materials, and to attend examinations at a later point.
The official programme duration is four semesters. However, international students may wish to allow for one extra semester, as it often takes time to adjust to a new country and the Master's degree programme.

- The Master's degree programme in Chemical Biology focuses on the molecular aspects of the life sciences with respect to the understanding of biological processes and their targeted chemical manipulation. In addition, modern methods of biotechnology and bioanalytics as well as their applications are taught.
In compulsory elective lectures, laboratory courses, and seminars in chemical biology, cell biology, and medicinal chemistry, students deepen their theoretical knowledge and practical skills in research-relevant areas.
Students can also take courses in chemistry, other natural sciences, or in other fields. In addition, students will choose a major subject in which they actively participate in ongoing research and demonstrate their ability to conduct independent research during the Master's thesis. The completion of the Master's thesis, which is scheduled to last six months, marks the end of the degree programme.
